Day 1 – Acknowledging Country
2017
INTERCHANGE FESTIVAL 2017
Day 1 – Acknowledging Country
Interchange Festival 2017 launched with an evening of artistic exchanges focused on Acknowledging Country. Co-curated by Thomas E.S. Kelly and Victoria Hunt, the evening expanded across conversations, debates, songs, performances, installation and video works that evoked open-hearted explorations into what we ourselves are acknowledging, when we “acknowledge country”.
Artists came together for a discourse between today and yesterday and asked us to consider, “who stood where we’re standing now? What stories have been told and songs sung on the earth beneath our feet?”
Curators:

With Artists:

We live, we work, we are born, and we die on land nurtured by cultures thousands of years living. Across the year, across the weekend, and especially on this night we situate ourselves on Gadigal land and acknowledge what it means to be on Country.
